Feel Your Wings: Come practice being playful and discover your ability to fly when you feel supported and seen. We will cover the anatomy of serratus anterior and latissimus dorsi. Finding flight in arm balances will be the focus of our pranayama and asana practice.

This workshop series will introduce you to the intersection and complementary nature of Therapeutic Bodywork and Forrest Yoga. During each three-hour workshop we will learn how to stretch, strengthen, muscle test, and myo-fascial release specific structural muscles of the body.

Each session will begin with anatomy discussion, including a short slide-show presentation. We will then move into our Forrest Yoga and Ceremony, sequenced to open, stretch, and strengthen the muscle groups of the day and connect us to our intention.

After yoga practice, we will explore the muscles of interest in an experiential way: how to work with injuries and pain in these areas, practicing “seeing” via structural and energetic assessment, muscle testing demonstration and practice, and myo-fascial bodywork demonstration and practice.

This series is designed for everybody. You do not have to be extremely fit, nor have had any experience doing bodywork. This work is for anyone who is interested in going deeper in their Yoga practice and want to better understand anatomy through hands-on and experiential learning.

This inaugural workshop series is based on my work completing the Yoga Bodyworkers training with Forrest Yoga Guardians Brian Campbell and Jambo Truong in Spring 2016, as well as 11 years practicing Forrest Yoga, 2 years practicing Integrative Structural Therapy, studying anatomy with Ellen Heed and Althea Orr, and becoming an official somanaut through the Integral Anatomy 6 Day Human Dissection Course with Gil Hedley in Winter of 2015. I am thrilled to share my love of geeking out over the mysteries of the human body with you!
