This workshop is for:
Yoga teachers wanting to improve the quality of their touch in their adjustments
Forrest practitioners of any level of experience
Anyone using their hands for a living
Partners wanting to improve connection with one another are welcome
We will deconstruct Forrest yoga poses such as handstand, dolphin, flash prep, shower, and cobra, learning to feel, engage, and reintegrate the muscles into your poses. We will occassionally use uncommon props such as weight, straps, sticks, balls or touch to facilitate this recognition. Engaging the muslces is but one way that poses can be healing and strengthening for the body.
We will delve into the energetic component of poses to stoke continuous movement/feeling through one’s own body prior to working with partners. Our ability to feel and access our Heart is vital in giving and receiving meaningful touch. We touch to communicate which means both expressing and receiving instruction from the recipient.
You will learn:
Practices for feeling gross [physical] body movement and subtle body awareness [“lines of energy”]
How to improve your intuitive and adjustment skills as a teacher
Exercises to access the hands, shoulderblade, neck, thorax, chest, and back
How to offer adjustments [touch] in a friendly, consensual, safe, effective and loving way
